Senior Occupational Therapist

Simone graduated with a BScOT from the University of the Western Cape in 2017. She completed her community service in the rural area of Mpumalanga at Matibidi Hospital. Here, she learned how to work within a community setting and provided care not only based at the hospital but in the community and the home. Her experience within Occupational Therapy was extended when she worked in a vocational rehabilitation practice in Johannesburg. Here the focus was on improving optimal functioning to engage in occupations at the workplace, this engagement was believed to not only be essential but provided a sense of purpose and belonging.
